How we compare offers
We count lenders and offers separately. A lender is a distinct lending institution. An offer is one set of pre-qualified terms, so one lender can return several offers at different amounts and terms. In one real application in October 2026, 9 lenders returned at least 162 offers. More offers is not the goal; better choice and a lower cost are.

Loan terms from 2 to 60 months. Rates vary depending on the lender, your credit and your state. Maximum APR is 35.99%.
What we count
| Term | What it means | Counted how |
|---|---|---|
| Lender | A distinct lending institution, such as a bank, credit union or online lender | Once, no matter how many offers it returns |
| Offer | One set of pre-qualified terms: amount, APR, term and estimated payment | Each combination counts as one offer |
| Variation | A different amount or term from the same lender | Counted as a separate offer, and grouped under that lender on your results |
| Pre-qualified | Terms estimated from a soft credit pull and the information you entered | Shown as offers; not final approval |
| Pre-approved | A lender's label for a stronger preliminary decision; still subject to verification | Shown as offers with the lender's label |
| Secured | An offer that requires collateral, such as a vehicle | Counted as an offer and flagged as secured |
How matching works
- You complete one application. Checking your rate uses a soft credit pull, which doesn't affect your credit score.
- Your application goes to lenders in our partner network that lend in your state.
- Each lender decides whether to respond and returns its own terms. We don't set rates.
- Your offers appear grouped by lender. The default order is our recommendation, based on loan funding probability, compensation from our partners, and other factors.
- You can re-sort by lowest APR or lowest payment. If you continue, the lender verifies your information and may run a hard inquiry.

What this sample shows
- 9 lenders returned at least 162 offers. Most of the 162 are amount and term variations: one lender alone returned 50.
- APRs on the offers shown ran from 9.69% to 35.62% for the same person on the same day. Loan amounts ran from $9,000 to $39,000.
- The lowest-APR offer came from a credit union, not from the lenders with the most offers.
- This is one applicant. Your number of lenders, offers and rates depends on your credit, income, state and loan request.
Typical results
- We don't publish network size or typical results yet, because one sample isn't a typical applicant.
- Once we have enough completed applications, we'll publish the number of lenders in our network, the median number of lenders and offers per applicant, and the share of applicants who receive at least one offer, with the dates measured.
- We'll update those figures every quarter.
Limitations
- Our network doesn't include every lender in the market.
- Some lenders don't lend in every state, and state law can limit amounts and APRs.
- Offers are estimates. Final terms can change after the lender verifies your information.
- Offer counts include variations, so a high count doesn't mean many different lenders.
- We may be paid by lenders, and compensation can affect the recommended order. Sorting by APR or payment ignores compensation.

Common questions
How many lenders will I see offers from?
It depends on your credit, income, state and loan request. In one real application in October 2026, 9 lenders responded. We'll publish the median once we have enough applications to measure it.
What counts as an offer?
One set of pre-qualified terms from one lender: an amount, APR, term and estimated payment. A lender offering three terms counts as three offers but one lender.
Is more offers always better?
No. What matters is whether one of them is cheaper or fits your budget better. Compare APR and total cost, and look at how many different lenders you have, not just the offer count.
How do you decide the order of my offers?
The default order is based on loan funding probability, compensation from our partners, and other factors. You can sort by lowest APR or lowest payment instead.
